   Tungsten! This outstanding metal has an impressive density of 19.3 g/cm³, almost twice that of lead. As a result, a tungsten sinker of similar weight is significantly smaller than a lead one. This makes it possible to use small but heavy sinkers successfully, including in strong river currents where the physical size of sinkers can limit their application. The combination of low volume and high weight greatly reduces drag, dramatically improving lure control. Lower drag also significantly increases casting distance — even a distant drop-off remains within reach!
   Thanks to its density, tungsten is also a very “sensitive” material: it does not dampen contact with stones, allowing the angler to clearly “read” bottom structure and distinguish gravel from shell beds.
   Tungsten sinkers are also indispensable in ultralight and micro-jig fishing, where a tiny lure needs to be cast a long distance without compromising its action with a bulky weight.
